Anna Rae is musician, writer, event producer, and photographer from Cambridge, MA. Known for lilting melodies and gut-wrenching lyricism, Anna's debut album "Peddler's Wares" and sophomore EP "High Stakes" highlight her signature style of combining melodic bass guitar with soaring vocals: pleading, spare, offering comfort and an honest appraisal.
For my latest EP "High Stakes," I commissioned album art from Christiana Celli. As I recorded and prepared to release the EP, I pondered questions like: What is album art for? What makes it great? Does it matter in the digital age? I interviewed the performers and engineers who worked on the album, and video-documented Christiana at work.
